Elite Beat Agents
For: DS
Mike's take:
Elite Beat Agents is a rhythm game for the DS made by Nintendo. I first had very little interest in the game. It has a very mediocre song list, and from my experience a song list in a music game can make or break the game. This isn't the case in EBA though, I found myself humming and enjoying the game, really getting into the music. Good Charlotte, the worst band on the face of the earth, made my #2 favourite EBA level. The game involves tapping circles on the touch screen to the beat of the music. Occasionally you'll need to slide across a line to the tempo of the music as well. It's very addictive and gets very challenging (and fun) in the harder levels. It's also got the perfect balance of a portable game: you can play it for 5 minutes at a time and also can play it for several hours at a time. Each level starts with a quirky comic-style cut scene. I found that the plot of this game was entertaining and made it worth playing through. Definitely one of the better music games I've played, although not on the same level as guitar hero. I'd recommend this game if you want to get your portable music game fix. I can't think of much negative things to say about this game. If you don't like music games however, this game won't change your mind. The Verdict:
9/10
